M282 Universal Wear Tester
The SDL Atlas M282 UWT Universal Wear Tester is a multipurpose instrument which measures resistance to laboratory wear for:
- Woven and knitted fabrics
- Napped and pile fabrics
- Hosiery
- Felt
- Non-woven and coated fabrics
- Yarns
- Threads and cordage
- Leather
- Paper
The UWT tests for resistance to surface abrasion; edge, fold, and projection abrasion; roll and fold testing; and flex abrasion. All tests may be made using specimens that are either dry or wetted in water, oil, or other liquids. Tests can be run automatically, minimizing the
need for the operator to monitor the results.
The UWT meets the requirements of AATCC 119 and 120, ASTM D 3514, D 3885 and D 3886; in addition to other industry and organizational test methods.
